How to Measure Waist Circumference?
While most of us are aware of our general size or dress size, many don't know their exact waist circumference. Your waist is the narrowest part of your belly, most probably at your belly button level. To correctly measure waist circumference:
- Stand up and put the tape around the narrowest part of your belly.
- Ensure it's correctly placed, laying flat and horizontal on your skin, but not compressed.
- Measure just after you exhale.
To make it even more reliable, take three measurements (A1, A2, A3) and then calculate the average:
Circumference = (A1 + A2 + A3) / 3
How to Measure an Existing Belt?
If you have a belt that fits well, you can use it to find your size:
- Lay the belt flat on a surface.
- Measure from the buckle pin to the hole you normally use.
- This measurement is your effective belt length and corresponds directly to your belt size.
